So we're at PetSmart Saturday night (because it's the cool place to be on your night off)... Apparently Science Diet's marketing department decided that people would prefer not to think of their middle-aged cats as "geriatric." Their Senior kibbles are now for the Mature Adult. God forbid that my cat Turtle (who will scarf almost anything in sight with little discrimination) be fed something designated for an over-the-hill feline.
In unrelated but just-barely-timely topics, Sara Petite is playing live * tonight* (6:00 PM) at the Waterfront Bar, Kettner Blvd.). I've been dying to see Sara Petite play live. I met her at a dinner gathering given by my good friend Tobin, and promptly bought her album, but have yet to experience the real deal!
What does a baby great-horned owl look like? Like a big, fluffy tree-blob, apparently:
My sister Lori encountered a nest last week during a hike in the Berkeley hills. Actually, she wasn't the first to encounter it; there's a local trend of owl-observing, so every day at dusk a group hovers about the tree where the owl family lives, snapping photos and talking owl talk. I so hope our egocentric species can manage to preserve this planet enough to leave room for the owl families...
